When Jess and I started this business last year I naively thought it was as easy as sending off some images and the samples would come flooding in! What was I thinking? It was soon apparent that we needed a graphic designer but not just anyone! Our web designer is our dearest friend Becci who knows us both so well. We needed someone who would love Toby’s art as much as us and who would be able to translate our ideas to paper. I put out a little shout out and my dear friend Jane ( she’s behind Queenie and Belles events with the lovely Annabel ) put me in contact with her brother-in-law Ollie Weait. I can’t thank her enough!
I liked Ollie immediately and he’s very patient with me ( I’m very fussy apparently!) so this partnership has got off to a great start. Earlier on this year he helped me on the artwork for our mug samples (although that’s a long story and I’m not sure that we’ll continue down that road) and has years of experience. With all our new ideas swimming around in my head I schedule a meeting with him in his lovely home town of Henley-on-Thames. It’s a beautiful crisp winter’s day and I arrive to talk through new ideas…..and he gets it immediately. I watch in awe, being technically quite useless myself, as he recreates these onto the screen. They look fabulous! It takes a while to get the colours right but with the help of Ollie’s Pantone Swatches we decide on “our” colour! Now….Dear Santa …#alliwantforChristmasismyownpantoneswatchbook
