Escape to greeceI’ve been lucky and had a great summer. It’s obvious to most that my heart is in Greece and I jetted off mid July for a much needed holiday and that beautiful Greek light to restore my energy and feed my soul.
I lived on The Peloponnese in Greece for 5 years when my daughter India was small. We started our adventure living in Nafplio, the first capital of Greece, for a year. It’s a beautiful city and our apartment in the old town overlooked the sea at the front and the castle at the back. We then moved to the sleepy, but very picturesque, village of Dhiakofto which is the gateway to the Vouraikos Gorge and the mountain town of Kalavrita, home to a winter ski resort. I hadn’t explored the West coast of the peninsula but had heard it was beautiful and unspoilt and was eager to visit. I wasn’t disappointed. It’s all the above and so much more. Stretches of long sandy beaches, pine forests, fishing villages, crystal clear seas, ancient castles and hidden waterfalls. 10 days later and I’m in my happy place, feeling relaxed and rested however it’s hard for me to visit Greece and not return to my beloved island of Aegina. I only manage 2 days and it’s definitely not enough but I know it’s always there, waiting for me. Time to head back to London with lots of inspiration for our new business. Comments are closed.
