Christmas Market Plan
We live in beautiful Greenwich, home to The Cutty Sark and The Observatory and, importantly for us, Greenwich Market. Busy, loud and full of shoppers especially on the weekends. We’ve long been talking about having a stall there to showcase our products and see what reaction we get from our neighbours.
After chatting with the managers on the phone I pack our samples into a bag and head to market with my fingers crossed that they like what they see….and they do! We’ve been offered a trial day and hopefully on the strength of that we’ll be able to trade more regularly.
I have a wander around and meet some of the stall holders. I’m putting a plan together in my head of what we need and how things will be displayed and it’s interesting to see what everyone else does.
I’m lured around the corner by the delicious smells wafting from the food stalls…at least I won’t go hungry when trading!
I’m thinking of a Market mood board as my action plan while I wait for all my orders to arrive, and thermals….definitely thermals!
Road Trip to Suffolk
Over the last few months I’ve been chatting via email with the team at Stuart Morris who print tea towels. Another recommendation by the lovely Laura Stoddart.
I’ve had some samples from them and have decided its time to go and pay them a visit.
Suffolk is not a part of the country that I know but once I leave the A12 I find myself driving through beautiful villages and pretty countryside. It helps, of course, that the sun is shining and it’s one of those perfect Autumn days.
I meet the team and have a tour of the factory. It’s very interesting to see the whole printing process. I then get the chance to sit down with Steve Goodwin, Head of Design Studio, and have a meeting about the design and colour of our tea towel and tote bag range.
Our meeting over I can’t resist a wander around the village of Hadleigh for a quick coffee and lunch on the run. Driving home it finally feels like we are getting somewhere!
