I’ve been working in retail for more years than I dare admit! One of my favourite parts of the job is attending trade exhibitions and over the years I’ve made new friends, been inspired, discovered lots of lovely new products and spent too much money! It can be hard work traipsing around, especially somewhere like Maison & Objet in Paris, but it’s fun too, especially when you have good company…Jane Sweet, I’m talking about you!
We decided at the beginning of the year that we would apply for Top Drawer for September 2018. So it was time to submit an application and a design of our stand. That’s where I called Ollie! You’ll have noticed that I have sung his praises on many occasions. Not being very technical myself ( who am I trying to kid??? NOT AT ALL!) I could only watch in wonder as Ollie took my thoughts and sketches and created our design on screen. We submitted our application and waited…..
And……I’m very excited to announce that our application was successful and we’ll be exhibiting September 9th to 11th at Olympia, London! The show is only open to trade visitors but if you are attending you’ll find us in the main hall, stand M32.
Tobias Design On Video!!!
Last September my teenager started sixth form at The Brit School in Croydon. She was joined by her best friend Jay. She’s studying Stage Management and he’s doing a diploma in Creative Film and Media Studies. It’s such a great opportunity for them and they’re both loving their courses. I’ve been lucky enough to see 2 performances staged by the pupils there and I’ve been so impressed, not only by the productions and the professionalism of all the kids involved but also watching them off stage. They are engaged, enthusiastic and relishing the moment. It’s no wonder the school has launched so many bright stars.
So we were delighted when Jay asked if he could base his Promotional Corporate Film project on our little company. We started off talking about ideas for the video. We needed to decide what to focus on, the style and mood of the film and music choices. Jay had earlier taken some photos for us to use on our social media sites so he already had a good insight into the business and our thoughts on how best to promote our first product lines. We had a couple of shoots booked in and we had lots of fun. Of course our Beast had to get in on the action! He gave his seal of approval!
And here is the finished trailer. We love it! Good luck at school Jay and thank you!
